Job Description:

Senior Environmental Compliance Manager oversees day-to-day regulatory functions at Clean Harbors and Safety-Kleen facilities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• 
  
• Conducting formal and systematic reviews of facilities to ensure compliance with environmental and health and safety regulations.
  
• Identifying problems and recommending corrections, prioritizing and following up on areas of non-compliance or potential non-compliance.
  
• Advising corporate and facility management on procedural and operational measures to correct or minimize non-compliant activities.
  
• Applying for environmental permits and maintaining schedules for renewals, reporting, and provisions of environmentally related permits.
  
• Preparing and maintaining environmentally related plans and procedures for facilities.
  
• Preparing reports and documents as required by regulatory agencies and corporate and facility management.
  
• Providing environmental related training and serving as liaison between facilities and outside contractors, and regulatory personnel.
  
• Coordinating and accompanying regulatory personnel during facility inspections and audits.
  
• Acting as liaison with Agency regulators and negotiating for terms favorable to the organization regarding legal agreements, permit conditions, and proposed regulations.
  
• Responding to significant accidents, incidents, and complaints, and providing guidance to operational teams.
  
• Monitoring regulatory changes to ensure compliance with upcoming changes in federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  
• Providing guidance to sales, field personnel, and customers concerning federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  
• Performing audits of external facilities to ensure they are properly permitted for use and operating in compliance.
  
• Performing other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • BS/BA degree (required)
    
  • BS/BA in Environmental Science or Engineering (preferred)
    
  • 5+ years of environmental compliance experience (required)
    
  • Knowledge of EPA laws and regulations (required)
    
  • RCRA 40 CFR hazardous waste management knowledge (required)
    
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
    
  • Excellent organizational skills
